“For me, ETFs are a good solution.” • WorldSave

In our series, in which customers report on their experiences with our ETF Robo, we were able to interview Ms. Anja Schmidt this time. The 38-year-old teacher lives in Berlin and is also training to be a voice actress:

Since when has investing been an issue for you?

anja schmidt Interview

I started relatively early, at around 15, to set up a separate bank account and regularly deposit savings into it. So I’ve been doing this for over 20 years. When I opened the savings account back then, however, I still got good interest on it. Over time, this became less and less and now there are even negative interest rates. That’s why I never really knew what to do with the money I had saved. When I then changed jobs and became a teacher as a career changer, I talked to a friend about it. That’s how I became aware of Raisin through her recommendation.

Why did you choose ETFs and specifically Raisin’s ETF Robo?

I knew from the start that I didn’t want to trade in individual stocks, since this form of investment is associated with stress and nervousness for me. It wouldn’t be fun to keep checking to see if stock prices are going up or down. In addition, I did not want to take the risk that my money was too risky due to insufficiently diversified investments. On the other hand, ETFs are a good solution for me. I was able to invest my savings easily and widely. I then decided on Raisin and the ETF Robo through a personal recommendation from a friend.

How did you find the process of closing the ETF Robo?

With the support of a friend, it was easier for me to tackle the subject of investing for the first time and to take the first step towards ETF Robo. The process leading up to the completion of the ETF Robo turned out to be extremely simple. Registering with Raisin was quick and easy. In addition, with the ETF Robo I only had to decide what proportion I wanted to invest in stocks and bonds. Since I didn’t want to do without the security part entirely at first, I decided on a portfolio with 70% equities and 30% bonds. After about a year, however, I switched to a 100% equity portfolio. After finding the beginning, I also became more confident over time.

What is your goal with your investment in the ETF Robo?

I invest the money for my retirement provision because I don’t know exactly how high my pension will be. I don’t want to have to completely change my life when I stop working, so I’d better start saving now.

How often do you monitor your investments?

Due to the fact that I invest my money on the one hand via a savings plan and on the other for the long term, I don’t have to constantly look at my portfolio. In the past year, I’ve only logged in three or four times.

What would you recommend to others who want to start investing?

I would first recommend speaking to someone knowledgeable on the subject. This can be, for example, in the circle of acquaintances, or even an employee at Raisin. In my opinion, if you want to invest your money in the long term and without much effort, you should primarily inform yourself about ETFs. Once you have found a suitable product, you should simply dare to invest a small or large amount. Because once you’ve got started, after a short time you’ll gain more and more security when investing.

Dear Mrs. Schmidt, thank you very much for the interview!
